Bolberry
The terraced barn conversion cottages are in the quiet hamlet of Bolberry, within walking distance of Bolberry Down and the South West Coast Path (0.5 mile) and Hope Cove (1 mile).
The quiet hamlet of Bolberry is situated between the villages of Hope Cove and Malborough. The picturesque thatched village of Hope Cove has two beaches, a shop, tea rooms and a pub.
Malborough which also has quaint thatched cottages benefits from two pubs, a post office and a well stocked mini-supermarket. A short drive away are the market town of Kingsbridge where you can kayak or paddleboard down the estuary to the yachting haven of Salcombe!
A little further away are the historic towns of Totnes and Dartmouth – with boat trips operating between them. Ivybridge, the ‘gateway to Dartmoor’ is only half an hour away by car.
Bolberry Farm Cottages are half mile down a lane from Bolberry Down which is set amidst acres of National Trust coastal countryside. From here you can walk along the South West Coast Path either west to Bolt Tail and down to Hope Cove or east to the secluded beach of Soar Mill Cove and onwards to Salcombe. This path has been voted as one of the top ten walks in the world by the ‘Lonely Planet’ publication.
Secluded coves and beautiful beaches frequent the coastline in both directions from Bolberry.
Along the coast from Hope Cove’s two beaches are South Milton Sands and Thurlestone Beach where you can hire windsurfs and kayaks and have lessons if you choose. Bantham beach is next along the coast where surfing and bodyboarding is a favourite for locals and tourists alike.
A small passenger ferry operates between Bantham and Bigbury. It is from Bigbury that you can walk or ride in the sea tractor to the famous Agatha Christie Burgh Island.
We hope you enjoy your stay and all this beautiful area has to offer.
